Letters from Iwo Jima
Clint Eastwood's powerful Japanese-language feature has captivated audiences around the world and has become an Oscar front-runner, earning nominations for Best Picture and Director. A companion piece to Eastwood's "Flags of Our Fathers," which dissected the Iwo Jima conflict from the American perspective, "Letters" follows several Japanese soldiers who face gruelling conditions and certain defeat during the American invasion of the island. "Letters" recently picked up the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film.
